RE: Ramp Charges for Tubine Aircraft. After much thought on the subject of “Ramp Charges” we implemented a Ramp Charge for transit turbine aircraft. We resisted the thought of ramp charges for many years. However, it has become evident that ramp charges are needed to help sustain our operation. The Evanston Airport has no airlines or regular freight flights. EVW is strictly a general/business aviation airport. The dynamic of business aircraft operations have changed. Some operators have their own fuel farms and will not buy fuel unless it is necessary. Other operators are tankering fuel from their point of origin and, again, will not buy fuel unless it is necessary. Some companies are flying shuttle operations on a tight schedule and do not put on fuel during enroute stops. Another factor is that the newer turbine aircraft are much more fuel efficient and therefore pilots sometimes do not need to add fuel for their next leg. Yet, passengers and pilots expect a certain level of service and facilities from our business. We have to be able to maintain our operations to meet your needs. Combine the above reasons for not buying fuel along with a low volume of traffic and we come to ramp charges as a way to distribute the cost of continuing our operations to meet your needs.The ramp charge is waived with a minimum fuel purchase.Call us at 800-789-2256 for more information.
